I would like to know if the purchased hardware is fundamentally 'different' in its construction compared to a self-built system.
The DIY version uses an optocoupler as the main component. What about the purchased connector? Does it also contain optocouplers?

Has anyone seen a circuit diagram for the K1-K2 function?

best regards
Okay.

Hello Joop,

At least my adapter from DRV is potted, and there's a high probability that others are doing the same.
Therefore, it will probably be difficult.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi.

As a possible indicator, you could measure the Ohmic resistance between pin 5 of the RS232 connection and pin 4 of the onboard connector.

A reading of zero ohms would indicate that there is no isolation provided by the optocoupler.
