Document: High oil consumption, AFB and AKN engines (Solution)

AFB/AKN engine, production until week 12/2000.
The vehicle has a very high oil consumption, and there are no visible external leaks.

Cause:
Faulty leaf spring valve in the oil filter module. This prevents the engine oil from flowing back into the oil pan and allows it to be burned off through the intake manifold.

Procedure:
Check the intake stroke for engine oil residue. Should.
If there are engine oil residues in the intake manifold, and this is not due to a faulty turbocharger, the oil filter module should be replaced.
