SDI vs. TDI Injectors: Are They the Same?

I'm looking for a new fuel injector with a needle lift control for my AFN engine. The VW part number for this is 028 130 201 S.
You can find an injector nozzle for the 1.7 SDI VW Polo under the same designation in the Bosch online catalog.

Could it be that these nozzles are the same? The Bosch part number is different, but the VW part number is identical.

If the part number matches according to AKTE, then they are the same. It's also possible that, due to simplified inventory management, VW combines parts with minor differences (or parts that are interchangeable).

I don't understand why the 1.7 SDi needs the 0.205 injectors from the AFN, especially considering its low cylinder filling.

Perhaps there was a typo there.

I find it very hard to believe that an AKU 205 has nozzles.

Only AFN, AHF, AVG.

A higher proportion of homogeneous mixture would be the only explanation. However, the poorer atomization would argue against this. This further distances the AKU (Advanced Combustion Unit) from a smoke-free lambda=1 (which is, in any case, an unattainable goal for diesel engines - at least for now).

The nozzle has the Bosch part number 0 432 193 707 and is intended for the AHG engine code! According to the Bosch online catalog, the equivalent part number is 028 130 201 S.

As I mentioned, I strongly suspect there's a typo in the BOSCH database.

Because if you search *forward*, meaning using AFN or AHG, you will never get the result that the nozzles are the same.

The ...202 S is installed in the 1.7 SDI AKU engine, while the 1.7 SDI AHG engine is supposed to have the ...201 S (from the AFN).

I think someone probably mistyped "1 instead of 2" when entering the AHG code, and that makes it much more meaningful.
