Seat Ibiza 110PS TDI: Upgrade to G3

I have a few more questions again, hopefully someone knows something about .

"Was the SEAT Ibiza, manufactured in 1998 with 110 horsepower, also available with the AHF or ASV engine?"
or were all of those things actually "afn" back then?

As far as I know, the Ibiza's engine mounts are the same as the Golf 3's, so the engine swap would be quite straightforward. However, what about the catalytic converter? Would it fit?

4) Does the speedometer fit the G3 in terms of the connectors?
I remember that they were the same.

Unfortunately, it's only vaguely related to 1).

Even the ASV in the 2000s 6K GP01 is mounted on all three original Golf 3 bearings.
So, I think they all fit the dimensions.

Oh, I'll add point 2 after all.
The catalytic converter looks very similar to the newer ones, with a long flexible pipe and a support bracket between the flexible pipe and the catalytic converter. As far as I know, it's a 038 model, which is what's used in the Golf 4.

I currently have that Ibiza "under my control." If you want to know more, I'll go check it out at my friend's place.

I'll probably drive over in the evening to take a look. If they're on the 3rd layer, the spacing should be the same as in the G3.

I just found out that this tachometer fits, as some are being sold on eBay (suitable for G3, Ibiza, etc.).

How does the CAT (Compact Audio Transducer) work with the G4? Can you fit a CAT into the G3?


I'm just curious if there were other engine options available for the Ibiza.

I'm guessing it's the AFN engine, because Seat has kept that engine in production for longer than VW, and the AFN was even available in the Golf 3 Variant and Passat 3B in 1998.

"Turbo kaputt" can mean anything:

- Vacuum hose slipped off, and the user doesn't understand.
- U.Dose opened.
- VTG, stuck or seized.

(You can still drive this far, but no further.)

- Wave stuck.

(I wouldn't buy it from here.)

- Wave turned off, turbine blades hit -> parts enter the intake manifold, engine.

The 110 HP Ibiza models were only equipped with the AFN engine from October 1997 to August 1999; afterwards, they were equipped with the ASV engine.

The ASV was later included in the 6K Gp01, which is the facelift model, but it's still based on the 6K platform.

The speedometer from the Ibiza fits, but not everything works perfectly. The instruments themselves function, but the pin configuration seems to be different. As far as I know, the turn signals don't light up, and I believe the handbrake light also doesn't work. The Ibiza speedometers have the MFA (Multi-Function Display).

According to the ET catalog, this catalytic converter with the long flex pipe was only used in the Ibiza 110 HP models with the AFN and ASV engines. The catalytic converter itself is likely the same, but the mounting brackets or supports are different. I have an Ibiza, and the Golf 3 AFN catalytic converter doesn't fit on mine.

Can the KAT be relatively easily adapted, or is it completely different?
As long as multi-factor authentication (MFA) is working, I don't care about anything else; I'll adjust the PIN settings as needed.
Do these levers fit the Golf 3? Or do I need to buy the MFA lever separately?

If the turbine blades have scraped against the housing, you can't be sure whether and how many parts have broken off (although you can usually see "if" it happened).

But what happened to the parts?

Are they just lying around in the swamp of LLK, and are they (for now) not causing any further harm?
Have they reached the combustion chamber, and are they diligently "polishing" the cylinder walls there?

The risk would be too high for me, because then the entire cost of the renovation might be wasted very quickly.

Okay, I meant the engine compartment. But if they were in the combustion chamber, it should be pretty obvious right away that it wouldn't fit. I wanted to test the compression; I'm getting a device with an adapter for the glow plugs.

Is that really that dangerous?

If the wave is still intact, then I'll get the... I'll immediately modify the turbo, and then it will fit perfectly.
