Hello,
After extensive use of the search function and now with square eyes , I haven't been able to find the GKB (German technical documentation) for the Seat Ibiza 6L.
I came across this gearbox in the forum (installed in a Seat Ibiza 6L 96kW) which achieves 59.9 km/h at 1000 rpm, and 179.9 km/h at 3000 rpm. Am I correct in assuming that at 4700 rpm, it could potentially reach 281 km/h if the power allows?
What is the gear ratio of this gearbox? Which gearbox has a similar gear ratio? And what amount of power (kW/Nm) would be required to 'fully utilize' this gearbox?
'Since I'm planning a conversion on my Ibiza 6K AFN with a CYP gearbox, including installing a KKK K04 turbocharger with various modifications (head porting, WAES, etc.), I need to consider a longer gearbox. According to VW, the 6-speed PD gearboxes are rated for a continuous load of 350 Nm. Does anyone have experience with this?'
The targeted performance for my AFN engine will be over 200 horsepower and over 400 Nm of torque.
Where can I find kmh to rpm data for various transmissions, specifically 5-speed and 6-speed?

'You want to install a turbocharger designed for a gasoline engine on your TDI and hope to achieve 200 horsepower? I think we're all curious to see the result. Perhaps you should clarify something more fundamental before even considering the transmission.'
Have fun!

Master craftsman.

, but only those who bother to investigate further will know that, thanks to 'Fast & Furious,' everyone probably thinks that the KKK K04 turbocharger is a great thing for Japanese turbocharged engines.
That's generally correct . However, it's important to know that the major and crucial advantage of such a turbocharger is that it's not 'pre-configured,' but rather the K04 series is a line of turbochargers that can be custom-built to meet specific requirements, essentially a special order, whether for gasoline or diesel.
That's all I have to say on that topic. I was actually looking for information about the transmission, not about my upcoming modifications.
Let me preface this by saying that I'm aware that the theoretical top speed of 281 km/h with the Ibiza's drag coefficient and 200 horsepower is certainly not achievable. My question wasn't about the V-max of 281 km/h, but rather about the drivability of the transmission, specifically regarding the real-world top speed with 200 horsepower. I was wondering if a 'normal' 6-speed manual transmission might be more suitable, as the 6th gear can be used to reach a top speed of around 260 km/h (presumably?).
Unfortunately, it was phrased in a somewhat misleading way.
I would still appreciate it if someone could provide me with the Ibiza's gear ratio chart (Getriebeübersetzungskennlinie - GKB) and where I can find kmh to rpm data.
Best regards,

FJW or FSM (newer version), both with the same translations.
You can find the data, for example, here:
I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.
-> Download, sheet for calculating bearing capacity.
The shorter transmission for the 96 kW engine is called HDS. Gruß Ulf

Hi,
The "standard" 6-speed PD (powershift) transmission is likely geared in such a way that the engine reaches its maximum RPM at the top speed of the "standard" PD configuration, which is probably too short for your intended purpose.
Otherwise, it probably wouldn't be so easy to get that 6-speed part into the Ibi, as we've discussed before (-> search function).
Best regards,
Jan, who finds the 110 horsepower in the 6K perfectly adequate. 1Z5 CFHF / AHB H4D

Thank you very much for now.
'One more question: Does anyone happen to have a similar nice table with MKB/GKB codes, like the one that exists for VW/Audi, but specifically for SEAT?'

Hi,
Unfortunately, no... Information about Seat is much harder to find. However, as far as I know, the transmissions are exclusively those that are also used in various VW models, so the difficulty lies in finding the correct correspondence.

Well, I've unfortunately noticed the same thing: it's always a bit harder to find data for SEAT drivers than for VW enthusiasts.
During my search for transmissions and other parts, I've often come across your name. I'm wondering, are you still using the original engine and transmission, or have you modified anything? And if so, have you had any experiences with that?
Best regards, Maik.

Hi,
Except for the AHK (trailer hitch), heated seats, turn signals in the side mirrors, LDA (lane departure assist), oil temperature gauge, and programmable wipers, my car is completely standard.
Regarding the engine and transmission, it's supposed to remain the same. Unless I happen to come across a suitable 6-speed gearbox, but I consider that highly unlikely due to the effort involved.
Best regards,
