Hello friends!
I'm new here.
We have an Ibiza 6L with a 1.9 TDI engine producing 130 horsepower, which has been chipped and is supposed to now produce 185 horsepower.
After a long time, this one has finally passed away.
We happened to get a 1.9 TDI engine with 118 kW (BOSCH) at a good price.
A well-known workshop manager has now installed it.
He took the PDE (performance data engine) and the chip from the old engine.
Unfortunately, we received the new engine without the accompanying operating instructions.

After reading the article "Tuning: Considerations for Intake Manifolds and Intercooling," I assume that the 118 kW engine has a larger intercooler than the 96 kW version.

Now I have a few questions.

Please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will then give you only the translation, without any explanations.
What should I pay attention to when checking the LLK (coolant level) for the engine?
Can someone please tell me the required dimensions, such as size/volume, etc.?
(I have a limited budget, but the heat load calculation should definitely not be underestimated.)

2)
Does the 118 kW engine have a different turbocharger than the 96 kW version? If so, which one?

3)
Was war der Sinn hinter der Übernahme des Steuergeräts/Chips, oder war sie sogar kontraproduktiv?

Links to sources that would allow me to find the answers myself would also be great.

"Thank you very much!"

Best regards,

Hi,

1) Nothing, just use the original LLK. The LLK for engine code BUK (or for ARL) is excellent.
But first, check if there's enough space.

Regarding point 2: Yes, changing from GT1747VA to GT1749VB will result in different performance and control characteristics. Please refer to the search function or similar topics within this forum for more information.

3) Absolutely not a good idea, especially because of point 2.

"Alte" PDE mit erheblicher Laufleistung zu übernehmen kann je nach deren Zustand einen schnellen Tod des Tauschmotors bewirken. icon_idea.gif

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"LG" translates to "Best regards" or "Sincerely" in English. It is a common abbreviation used at the end of emails and letters.
