"Can someone explain what 'developer files' mean in the context of MSG software, and what these files typically look like? Is programming a ME7 or ME9 engine control unit significantly different or more difficult compared to programming an EDC 15 or similar?"
Are there any "demos" available for the MSG software?

If anyone possesses such information, they will certainly...
Do not share (here or elsewhere).

EDC15 and ME7 are based on the same microcontroller family (C16x).
The situation is similar with EDC16 and MED9 (MPC55x).

There are separate tools for programming each processor family.

Best regards,
Rudi

As far as I know, the developer files offer support for an external logging unit, and all settings are accessible without requiring any login code.

ok, thx; that's something at least. why shouldn't anyone make these general statements? it's not about specific statements. my questions arise because a friend of mine (who programs for Bosch engine control systems) told me, "you don't just buy a diesel." The conversation revolved around the engine control and control pneumatics of TDIs.

'General statements like that are about as informative as saying 'You don't buy a diesel car...''

'Bastion' describes developer control units that provide additional interfaces (connectors/cables).
to have access to corresponding development systems.

Sure, here's the translation:

'lg' is a German abbreviation that stands for 'liebe Grüße,' which translates to 'best regards' or 'warm greetings' in English.

@ benje

Could you please provide a more precise quote from your acquaintance?

He probably had further reasons for saying that, and he certainly wasn't completely out of his mind when he said it.

m;
Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

"...he didn't say that while completely intoxicated. He meant it in reference to the fuel, which is 'difficult' to ignite. And subsequently, the technical challenges related to the 'hard' combustion. Well, thinking back, he only drives gasoline-powered cars..."
