Hello fellow diesel enthusiasts,
I have a question here.
My engine control unit (ECU) with part number 038 906 012 FA (Golf 4 ALH, manufactured in 2002) has 2 software versions.
1 x Tuning 0.216 + 1.25 bar (AG) Automatic.
1 x Standard fuel injector (fuel injection quantity was reduced due to the injectors) (SG) with manual transmission.
With the coding, I can easily switch back and forth.
Is it possible to use another mapping variant with these engine control units?
Codes 00001 (AG) and 00002 (SG) are working, but 00003 (All-wheel drive) or 00005 are not being accepted.
Do I possibly need a specific login code, or is it simply not working?
Who is familiar with this?
What is WSC (Workshop) code, and what changes does it bring about?
I would be very happy to hear your opinions.
Best regards,
Borys.
P.S.
The standard version (SG) of my ALH engine produces approximately 85 kW.
(K-Power tested 12 times, with results ranging from 79 kW to 89 kW).
1440 kg (station wagon) with a DZR (direct-acting rotary valve) engine achieves 7.2 seconds (50.6 km/h at 2000 RPM).

Is it possible to use another characteristic map variant with these control units?
If it is programmed to do so, then yes. To be able to say that, one needs the dataset.
Do I possibly need a specific login code,
No.
or does it simply not work?
If it's not there, it can't work.
What is WSC (Workshop) code, and what changes does it bring about?
The workshop's identification number. This is saved, for example, when reprogramming, so that you can...
(if VAG-COM and similar tools didn't exist), one could say which workshop...
made the last recoding.
Best regards,
Rudi

Hello Rudi, and thank you very much.
So, it's possible in terms of storage space.
another mapping variant, such as programming a standard mapping.
Regards,
Borys.

So, it is possible, in terms of storage space, that...
to program another characteristic map variant, e.g., from a standard characteristic map.
CAN... whether it is actually possible must be checked on a case-by-case basis.
Sure, here's the translation:
'lg' is a German abbreviation that stands for 'liebe Grüße,' which means 'best regards' or 'warm greetings.' It's commonly used in emails, letters, and other forms of communication to express affection or goodwill.
