Hello everyone, I have a 3B model from 2000 with an AJM engine. The car is currently having problems icon_cry.gif. I haven't found anything suitable in the search function, so please let me know if there's something there! I have the following issue: It started with the engine briefly and completely cutting out at the same throttle position, with the ignition turning off and on -> usually it would be fine again (no errors stored). After that, I installed a new throttle module, as we've had similar issues with them in our workshop before. icon_evil.gif This didn't solve the problem. After reinstalling the old module, one morning I noticed another issue: when I turn the ignition on, the ABS and ESP warning lights sometimes stay on, and then the engine doesn't start. If I turn the ignition off and on again, the warning lights go out, and the engine starts.
"When I try to read the ABS/ESP control unit, it displays 'Engine control unit: no communication'. I can't even read the engine control unit at all (when the warning lights remain on)."
Okay, I thought it must be related to the power supply of the control unit or the control unit itself. The power supply was always present directly at the control unit. Then, as a test, I ordered a new control unit and installed it, and the car ran without problems for a few days.
Now I have sent the MSG back, because it is icon_redface.gif unaffordable at 929 euros!!
I then took the MSG to an electronics technician who specializes in repairing these control units, works with software, and also develops and installs tuning software.
He already has a new processor, and I don't know what else is soldered in, but the amazing thing is that it doesn't work at all now. I think he can read out the devices and their software, but he can't check their functionality?

Okay, here's my BIG request/question: Who can test a 038906019CE for functionality and, if necessary, repair it?

Greetings to everyone.
Sandro.

Where did he get that from? If he installed a 'standard' C167 chip, you don't need to worry.
I'm surprised that the thing isn't making any noise anymore... My opinion: it's completely broken.

Either bid on something suitable at the auction house or spend the €929 again.

Rudi.

Ps.: die ganze Fehlerbeschreibung ließ mich irgendwie an Relais 109 denken. I'm sorry, but the provided text is incomplete and doesn't make sense. I need a complete sentence or paragraph to provide an accurate translation.
It's possible that the fact that the new engine control unit was installed was just a coincidence.
That would have been verifiable, but unfortunately, it is no longer possible due to the current state of the MSTG.

Hello Rudi,

What a coincidence, I just wrote you an email icon_biggrin.gif.

So, I don't know where he got the processor, but he claims that he has already installed MSG more often icon_confused.gif.

I checked the 109 by applying power to the MSG (Message Control Unit). If it doesn't work, that's probably the issue. I don't think they still call it the "109" (was it called that on older Golfs/Passats, etc.? I'm not sure what it's called now).

But do you still have the MSG that you mentioned in your email from 12/05? icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif

Best regards, Sandro.
