Hello there! icon_lol.gif

(Please move this topic if it's miscategorized.)

We recently received the "VAG-COM/OBD2 Diagnostic Professional System KKL+CAN (USB)".
I am very satisfied with this software. I have also already unlocked the outside temperature display on two Audi A3 models (year 2001).

And that's where I have a lot of questions!

1. Outdoor temperature display.
Can I also activate this feature on a Golf 5 with standard air conditioning?
Which vehicles (Audi, VW) also have this feature? (e.g., A3 models manufactured before 2001)?
Is the Golf 4 the same as the A3?

2. Service Interval.
I have some customers who have switched from long-life oil to regular 10W40 oil.
How can I change the reading from 30,000 km to 15,000 km?

3. Audi 8E (Without onboard computer)
The speedometer displays how many kilometers can still be driven.
Can I exchange this data with other data? For example, average consumption?

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Reitinger

Sure, please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/product.html

Or simply read the instruction manual or contact the seller's support. I believe that with a careful study of the manuals, very few questions should remain unanswered icon_wink.gif.

Correct icon_smile.gif

Please review the last two pages of the manual and download the following URL:
http://www.obd-info.de

In that context, Bertil described, among other things, the issue with the service intervals.

Best regards, Rainer.

1. Not really, not with the Golf 5 - at least, not to my knowledge so far.
For other models like the A3 8L, it works as long as the basic FIS (instrument cluster) is installed. For the 8P, you don't even need the FIS, just the climate control unit.

2. Yes, it is available for all models.
Change the oil quality for channel AP 45 and then reset it.

3. No, unfortunately, that's not possible - you would have to write directly into the AI's memory.

Rainer added that later. icon_mrgreen.gif

@vagtuning
Thank you very much as well!

@Rainer K.
And thank you very much!
I just have one question for you... where did you add the outside temperature display from a Golf 5?

On this page?

Best regards, Reitigner.

Hi,

Sorry, I quoted the wrong line. I meant the service interval display, because it only showed "Golf 4" there.

Best regards, Rainer.

Too bad!

Is it possible to retrofit a temperature display to a Golf 5?

Best regards, Reitinger.
