Hi and Hello,
I just have a quick question.
I have a 1998 Seat Ibiza GT TDI with a 110 horsepower AFN engine.
The car has a powerbox from KW-Systems, a new mass airflow sensor, and a Twister-Kit air filter. The performance is according to... Dyno test: 139.8 horsepower / 296 Nm of torque.

The car is certainly fast, but a BMW 320d (150 hp) is still faster from 100-200 km/h, even though it's much heavier than my Ibiza (tare weight 1,120 kg). I might be faster in acceleration, but I have no chance in terms of responsiveness. That's why I don't think a 110 hp TDI can be faster than, for example, a Golf 4 GTI TDI with 150 hp!!??

'If your car runs at 220 km/h, be happy with that. Removing the speed limiter is not only difficult, and even if you find a tuner who can do it, your engine is likely to fail soon. There's a reason why the engine is limited in the first place. A diesel engine is not the same as a gasoline engine. Diesel fuel burns much slower than gasoline. As the engine speed increases, the time window for the combustion process becomes increasingly narrow. If you rev the engine even higher, eventually the time window will be too short, and you will get engine damage (not due to mechanical over-revving, as with a gasoline engine).'
If you still want to 'push' the BMW, get a good chip and install the VNT-17. Then you'll get a lot more power.

I would have swapped my 110hp TDI for a 320d a long time ago if I only had the money, because even used BMWs aren't that expensive - unless you buy one with more than 100,000 km on the odometer.
A friend of mine has a 320d, and I personally like it much better than the VW. The transmission shifts wonderfully, and it responds very directly to the accelerator, with great acceleration. It revs smoothly – not as abruptly as the VW PD-TDIs, and if you drive long distances, especially at speeds above 160 km/h, it's also much more fuel-efficient, saving around 1 to 1.5 liters per 100 km.
