Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with my TDI where it keeps stalling, and maybe you can help me because my local dealer is at a loss.
Description: Volkswagen Golf V, 2.0 TDI, 140 horsepower, BKD engine, manufactured in 2004, with 55,000 km mileage.
Okay, so when I drive from my apartment home in the morning, about 2 kilometers (with a cold engine), it rarely has any misfires, although sometimes it does.
'Then, if it's been running well for a while and I have to leave, that's when it starts: intermittent drops in RPM (lasting about half a second), from 2000 RPM up. But once the engine is properly warm, it stops and runs without any problems.'
So, the problem only occurs when the engine is warming up.
However, if I really get it going for a longer stretch, say 100 kilometers, then it has an unstable idle; it tends to sputter slightly at idle.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
So, here we need to provide more specific information; otherwise, all we can do is guess.
What does the error memory indicate?
Please check the engine temperature sensor.
Greetings.
Mati.

Hello,
I've been experiencing the following problem since today:
Gtested and everything is fine."The engine is running smoothly. I haven't noticed any loss of power, except for those occasional misfires. For example, I was able to rev the second gear up to just under 3,700 RPM."
Here's some more information about my Leon:
Year of manufacture: 2007.
Engine: 2.0 TDI with 140 horsepower and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
Mileage: approximately 52,000 km.
Miscellaneous: small employee.
"For the last approximately 4,000 to 5,000 kilometers, I've been driving very economically, typically at a maximum speed of between 90 and 100 km/h, and the fuel consumption has significantly dropped below 5 liters at times. The DPF light has never illuminated."
Now I'm wondering what could be the cause. Especially since the warranty expired 4 days ago, and now it's the weekend, so I can't do anything about it. Could it be related to the fact that I drove the car very slowly for the last few kilometers? That was my thought, and that's why I also almost ran the battery completely dry today.
I hope I don't have to deal with an expensive repair. What do you recommend? Has anyone else had similar experiences?
Here's another point: I often fill up my gas tank at an SVG station (not "brand-name" gasoline), and recently I drove the car until it had only 30 km of range left. Could it be that some deposits have formed somewhere and are now causing a blockage?
Sure, here's the translation:
"One more question:"
I read in another forum that a faulty PD element could potentially also cause a cylinder to fail (although the car sounds normal). If a cylinder fails like that, is it safe to drive with? I ask because my workshop is located in the city where my employer is, and the distance is about 50 km. Should I drive there, or should I go to a new workshop closer to my home?

Read the error memory immediately after the error occurs (!).
The wiring harness to the pressure sensor elements in the control unit is a potential cause if there are no error codes stored, and it relates to anything that has to do with the power supply from the engine control unit.
Best regards, Rainer.

"So, I just went to the local service center, and they asked me if a warning light was on or had been on. Since it wasn't/isn't, no error code is being stored. After an auditory and visual inspection of the engine, as well as checking the connections, the employee told me that I should be able to drive normally. Nothing else seems to be broken. He could also offer to keep the car for a day to investigate further, but since there's no error code in the system, he advised me to save my money."
Hmm.
If these are the issues you're referring to, what would a corresponding repair approximately cost?

Part number: 038 971 600, approximate material price: €46.
For the PD element connecting rod, the part number is provided without guarantee, as it depends on the chassis number and there are two possible numbers for your engine code. However, the prices are the same.

Okay,
I visited my car mechanic in Hagen today. The problem was solved. There were no error codes stored in the diagnostic system. Further tests revealed that a sensor on the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) was defective and therefore sending incorrect signals to the engine control unit.
Now everything is working fine again. After driving 2 km in the city and 6 km on the highway, I gave it full throttle and performed various tests - all without any problems. Unfortunately, I couldn't fully accelerate in 6th gear due to traffic, but there were absolutely no more jerks or hesitations.
Wonderful.
