ECU Coding: VW Sharan 028 906 021 JJ (AFN)

Hello everyone,

I'm having a small issue with the engine control unit (ECU). It's currently coded to 00001, which, as far as I know, is for an automatic transmission. However, I can't seem to change it to code 2. The next problem is that the GRA (presumably a specific system or component) isn't working.
There are no errors in the MSG (Message), the switch bits have been checked, and the V signal is plausible, at least that's what he says.

Okay, here are my questions:

Can this MSG be re-encoded? And if so, is coding "2" actually available? (Where can I find a list of possible encodings?)

"Has anyone here any idea why the cruise control isn't working? I've been searching online, but nothing seems to quite match my specific problem."

Hello Max,
The three versions of the 021JJ data that I am familiar with all have AG and SG encoding.
Where did you get the ECU (Engine Control Unit)? Is it possibly modified?

Thank you for the response. The control unit is brand new. Do you know if other control units have the same coding (00001-00003), or are they different?

What is the firmware version of this device? (You might want to post or email a photo of the label.)
The data from the years 2022, 2018, and 2016 all have the codes 00001 and 00002.

It's the year 2022. Do you have any idea why the GRA (Gear Range Indicator) isn't working? I've already tried all the switches, and the only one that doesn't respond is the clutch pedal switch. But that's not surprising since it's coded for automatic transmission...
