Audi V12 TDI: Specs, Features, EURO5 Details

I found a brief description of the Audi V12 CR EURO5 TDI, but it's in English.

Interesting features:

6.0 L, 493 hp (388 kW), 1000 Nm.
Average consumption: 11.6 L/100km
The bore x stroke ratio is the same as the V6, and the cylinder spacing is also the same.
Compression ratio 16:1 (!), maximum boost pressure 2.6 bar (!).
2000 bar, 6-hole Bosch injectors with a 0.12 mm orifice diameter.

Relatively speaking, that's still only around 1.6 bar.

Whether this type of motor makes sense for everyday vehicles is another question (long live the society of fun).

I'm assuming the engine block is made of aluminum... the end is near for this disposable engine.

Funny, funny... Green Car Congress... well, saving at the highest level. Torque is something that is very "inflationary" anyway. You almost expect 400 Nm from a 2-liter diesel... so you'd expect a bit more from a 6-liter engine... or did they save money on the transmission?

Even if it seems pointless, I think it's at least a little better than a W12...
