Hi.

I was spontaneously asked to do this in the meantime.
What do I need for an oil change on a Leon ASV (this is my first time doing an oil change on a 038 TDI)?

- oil
- Filter cartridge (does it include new seals?)
- Drain plug gasket.

no other parts?

todo:
- Noise reduction removed.
- Oil out.
- filter out
- clean the filter.
- HOW do I securely screw the filter cap back on?
- pure oil
- Insulation applied.

Is that correct?

The plastic lid of the filter cartridge has the following marking: 25NM.

Make sure the seals are included with the filter... Ulf also plans to vacuum the oil out of the housing... Well, I don't think it will make much difference, because the residual oil level is still quite high in other areas anyway.

Hello Martin,

I had this procedure done six weeks ago, including a diesel filter replacement.

All the important seals were included with mine.
I have replaced the oil drain plug with a thermocouple, so I cannot provide any information about the standard configuration for this part.

I tightened the oil filter by hand, 'like in the old days.'
It's crowded.

Otherwise, I feel the same way as Matthias: you haven't forgotten anything about IMA.

Best regards, Jochen.

Oops.

Does the Leon ASV MJ 01 already have WIV?

I don't have the car's codes with me, but I want to buy oil right away.

...no, it does not have a WIV.

You can use oil that meets the VW specification 505.00.

Hi,

"At least in the ASV Ibiza, it's exactly the kind of thing you described. Getting the oil filter off is quite difficult because there's a lot in the way and the space is quite limited, but with a 'belt tensioner tool' and a lot of skill and even more patience, it's actually possible."

There are two models of drain plugs for the Ibi: one with a shrunken gasket that needs to be completely replaced, and one with a replaceable gasket (I initially had the wrong set).

Best regards,

Jan.

...no, it does not have WIV.

You can use oil that meets VW standard 505.00.

However, he has...
MJ 2001 and MJ 2002 should be the same, but I (just for fun) made the following changes:

Combination instrument 17:

Maximum distance until oil change.
Channel 43.
old value: 15
new value: 50

-> Flexible maintenance interval.
modified on 2006-05-30

Maximum time until service.
Channel 44.
old value: 365
new value: 720

-> Flexible service intervals.
modified on 2006-05-30

I use regular oil and change it every 15,000 km.
Let's see when I would need to do it after the WIV?
Now I've driven over 20,000 km and had one oil change, and it still hasn't reported anything.

Best regards, Jochen.

Okay,

The complaining is over.

The old filter cap was extremely difficult to remove, even with a quick-buy tension band wrench. So, I'm going to build something icon_smile.gif.

Putting in the filter cartridge was also quite amusing.
- was was she doing?
- No, I don't think so.
- Press it.
- Platsch ... Oil everywhere.

After that, as usual, I gave the engine a light wash at the car wash, which has a separate separator for oil and other contaminants.

Thank you for your help.

Oh yeah, you could have said that: Pressing the "Katusche" (a type of button) on the lid prevents spills...

My tool is based on a piece of an old timing belt and a pair of pliers... it costs nothing and is very effective.

and why didn't he get in touch? it's simple - because no Leon, neither the 1M nor the 1P, has - without exception - and for that reason, you can also use the cheaper oil icon_idea.gif.

No, because the maximum mileage is set to 50,000 km and the maximum time is set to 720 days until the next long-life service interval, and neither of those limits has been reached with my driving style.

I was able to tune in to the channels mentioned above.
The time until the next service interval is being reduced, at least that's what channel 44 says when I read it.

Okay, so tell me one reason why the instrument cluster accepts all the settings, changes the values accordingly, has the corresponding sensor installed in the oil pan, and yet there is supposedly no oil level warning?
It looks very much like WIV to me...

But just look here:
http://de.openobd.org/seat/leon_1m.htm#17

for that, you can also use a cheaper oil .

You can do the same thing with a golf club if you don't adjust the WIV values to the corresponding channels.

Best regards, Jochen.

Regardless of what Seat says, if the values are accepted after the AI change and are now decreasing, then it seems like it's working.

If you are so certain that it is absolutely impossible, please tell me exactly why that is.

Protection of VW/Audi -> technical superiority icon_wink.gif.
Apart from that, even a missing hood latch (!) can prevent a vehicle from meeting the criteria for "Wertsteigerungspotenzial" (potential for appreciation in value).

Tell me a reason why there isn't a SEAT with WIV.

Protection of VW/Audi -> technical superiority icon_wink.gif.
Apart from that, even a missing hood contact (!) can prevent a vehicle from meeting the criteria for a warranty claim.
and for example, only a Leon with the DWA (Dynamic Wheel Assistance) system has it.
The oil quality sensor should also not be installed.

both.

If the small bump located at the bottom of the oil pan is the quality sensor.
