Hi,
It refers to the control rod that connects the variable geometry turbocharger (specifically, the VNT15 in this case, although I believe the question is generally applicable) to the adjustment ring and the vacuum actuator.
A small lever is located on the adjustment ring near the wave, and a rod is attached to this lever, which in turn connects to the vacuum actuator.
This lever on the shaft has an external mechanical stop with an adjustable stop screw.
Is it true that the turbine wheel is exposed to the maximum flow of air when the lever is fully engaged (i.e., at maximum compressor output)?
If the N75 valve is operating at its maximum duty cycle (e.g., during idle after engine start), meaning the maximum travel of the control rod/vacuum actuator has been reached, is it permissible for the lever to rest against its end stop?
Regards,
Jens.
