Okay, bitte gib mir den Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.
certainly:
I received information from Tunline stating that the ALH engine is essentially the same as the AFN engine, except for the fuel injectors (which are smaller in the ALH) and the catalytic converter (which is also smaller in the ALH).
Does anyone know more about it?

You could potentially achieve around 130-140 horsepower by using the fuel injectors from an AFN engine and a chip designed for an AFN engine in an ALH engine, right?

hi alex,
'I've been wrestling with the exact same question for months. I have an appointment with Tuneline on December 27th, and they keep telling me it's just the injectors. However, a VW mechanic from golfiv.de says there are some smaller differences.'

I can't decide whether to get my ALH 90 hp engine chipped to 115 or 127 hp.

Bitte gib mir den Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.

The AFN engine, with its 110 hp, has a gearbox that can only handle 250 Nm of torque, just like the ALH. However, people often chip the AFN engine to achieve more Nm than the 127 hp ALH engine.

I really want an answer to this! :-/

I still want to reach 200,000 km, but currently, I only have 22,000 km.

Best, Paul.

Hi.

Just by looking at the timing belt drive and the location of the pump, it should be clear that the AFN and ALH engines come from different generations.
The ALH is newer, so it should be compared more closely to the ASV or AHF.

The pump is likely not the same as the one used in the AFN model (not just because of the 8 or 10-pin connector).

I cannot say to what extent the internal stability, or tuning potential, of an ALH engine ultimately matches that of an AFN engine.

Hello Paul,

Right now, I have a chip from MTM installed in my Polo. It's supposed to give me 113 horsepower and 302 Nm of torque. The difference compared to before is significant, especially in terms of torque. However, a little more power at the top end wouldn't be bad. According to the speedometer, my top speed is 210 km/h, but with my current tires (195/45/16), it's limited to 200 km/h.
When comparing the data for the ALH and AFN engines on the Tunline or MTM websites, you can see why: the ALH engine's power drops significantly in the upper RPM range (approximately 4000-4200 RPM), and at 4500 RPM, it only produces around 80-90 horsepower.
According to Tuner, the chips from MTM and Tuneline are quite similar, but it would be interesting to know if this is also the case when they are installed.
I didn't choose the 127 horsepower Tuneline version.
Since I don't want to bother with switching, the reason for the switch is, according to Tuneline, the poor emission performance of the 127 hp version, which makes it not suitable for emissions testing.

If you find out more specific information about Tuneline, or if you can get the engine code that Tuneline refers to, please let me know.

Best regards, Alex.

Hello Ulf,

I did some more research, and you're right, the AFN is too old. The information from Tuneline wasn't entirely accurate.
I'm sorry, I was referring to the information related to your question.
There are essentially only three engines that would be suitable.
AVG.
AHF
ASV
Is there any more detailed information available about the engine design?

Best regards, Alex.

hi widale and other icon_cool.gif

I absolutely need a version that can be switched off, because I live in Austria, and the insurance and motor-related taxes would be extremely high. icon_evil.gif
Tuneline told me that there's almost no noticeable difference between the 116 hp and 127 hp variants in the lower speed range. Apparently, the 127 hp variant only offers more power and better acceleration above 140 km/h.

hmm
I still don't know exactly how much horsepower I'll be getting from the chip tuning, but I'm thinking around 116 hp. :-/

Best regards, and I'll get in touch once I've finished the chip implant.
