Passat TDI: Diagnosebuchse - Standort & Anleitung

Hi!

Please don't hit me!!!!!!!
I just used the search function on the forum and database to try and locate the OBD port in my Passat TDI 1Z, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Where is it supposed to be? I'm new to using VAG-COM!
Someone from VW told me that the connector is located under the cover of the light switch, but I couldn't remove it even with gentle force. If that's the right place, how do you get that cover off? The "How-to" guide doesn't say anything about it!

Hi,

It's located directly between the radio and speedometer, underneath the left center air intake nozzle. It's under a small plastic cover. If you have climate control/thermotronic, the interior temperature sensor is located there.

So, it's on the right side of the steering wheel, not on the left where the light switch is.

Finally found it!!! Thank you very much!

The socket is very loose inside (well, it's only been maintained according to the VW service booklet), and my OBD-II connector is a bit too wide for the frame -> so, time to improvise again...

I notice more and more each day that this box was a complete mistake...
