Hello, I have a problem. I have a V6 TDI (KB BAU) engine with a gearbox (KB EYJ) installed in my VW Bus T3. It's running really well. I only have 2 problems.
1. Speedometer in the instrument panel is not working.
2. I have the following error in the gear transmission control unit: "18265 Engine control unit error message - P1857 -35-00--"
Can-Bus is an I/O.
I have not installed an ABS control unit.
Can I help you further? Thank you in advance.

Best regards, Kashi

18265 / P1857 Lastsignal Error message from the motor-SG

The signal for 'motor-is-moment' is sent from the engine control unit to the control unit for automatic. Transmission - J217 - transmitted
-The exchange of information between the control units takes place via CAN-bus
-Condition for error detection: Engine speed and throttle signal are OK, but no load signal was detected for 245 ms.

Possible Cause

Motor control unit detects error in 'engine-is-moment'

Error Correction

Reading block 009: With hydraulic control 'E17'

Display Group 009 (Vehicles with CAN-Bus → Note)
Display Fields
1 … Nm Motor-is-moment during operation. A 2nd mechanic is required to read the values. During operation in a gear, the displayed torque remains constant and high, as no motor torque reduction is necessary. The transmission of engine torque from the engine control unit (ECU) to the transmission control unit (TCU) is done via CAN bus. If no or an implausible value is displayed: – Check and resolve the error in the engine control unit's (ECU) error memory.
–Identification of the control unit for automatic operation. Transmission - J217 - inspect
–Check CAN-Bus wires

2 … Nm Maximum torque in operation. To read the values, a 2. Mechanic Required: During the gear shifting process, the transmission control unit requires (reduced) engine torque.

3 …/min Motor speed, Measurement block 001, Display field 1

4 …% Throttle valve value, Measurement block 002, Display field 2
Throttle position or Gas pedal position when stationary, engine off – when increasing from idle to full throttle, the % value constantly increases.
-Target value at idle speed: 0 … 1 %
-Target value when the accelerator pedal is in full throttle position: 99 … 100 %

Possible Cause

Faulty or defective engine control unit
Mechanical engine failure

Error Correction

Check the engine control unit (ECU) for identification; query and clear the fault codes.

In the engine control unit (ECU), there are no error codes, only the items that I have not installed (ABS, air conditioning, fuel pump, fan control unit).
I will check the data blocks today, thanks.

Post27-09-2007, 18:30    Subject: ESP Control Signal Indicator remains lit for 10 minutes. Quote

Hello everyone!

I have the following problem with my VW Polo, manufactured in 2003, 1.9TDI, with 93,000 km. For about a year now, the ESP warning light has been permanently illuminated after about 10 minutes. It doesn't matter whether I'm driving or the car is stationary, as long as the engine is running. Turn the ignition off and on, and the problem disappears for the next 10 minutes.

The vehicle's self-diagnosis on the VW system revealed the following error message:

03 - Brake Electronics
6Q0907379M
ESP 5.7 front H02 --- 0001
Encoding 3374
Operating number 31414

004.01 - Retrieve error codes
Function successfully executed
1 Error detected

18265 P1857 000
Last signal
Engine Control Unit Error Message
sporadisch

What happened in the meantime before the problem occurred: Around 75,000, I replaced the winter tires and the windshield wiper arm.

After the error occurred, I replaced the brake pads and discs at the rear + front. But nothing helped.

Does anyone perhaps have an idea or solution?

Thank you in advance.
