Passat, model year 2000: Brakes stuck, brakes overheating.

Cause:
Production-related tolerance ranges.


Solution:
The brake booster must be connected without any tension.

- Loosen the screw on the bearing bracket.
- Loosen the screws that connect the bearing bracket to the master cylinder and the brake booster.
- Move the brake booster back and forth to allow for stress-free installation.
- First, tighten the fittings, and then tighten the screw on the bearing bracket, being sure to observe the specified torque.
- Then, adjust the brake light switch.
