Hello,
'I still have the old 1Z engine with 182 Nm in my Audi 80. Consequently, it probably has a voltage regulator with an ohmic potentiometer. Are there any experiences with resistance values for a 10% tuning? I haven't been able to find anything about this in the forum (yet).'

Regards,
Lucas.

Hi Lucas,

Does the older version with the Potigeber actually have the designation VP 34 (instead of 37)?

Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about the resistance value, and I'm not even familiar with the pin configuration. icon_sad.gif

If you want to figure something out on your own:

"I'm looking for the pins for the signal relay, specifically the ones with the lowest resistance between them. In my case, it's pin 5 and pin 6, with a resistance of 0.8 ohms."

2. Connect the control panel to a variable DC voltage of approximately 7 volts in such a way that it moves (check by listening).

3. For the remaining Pumper pins, search for the variable sensor value --> Connect an ohmmeter and observe any changes in the reading while the switch is being activated (for inductive sensors, check pins 2 and 3).

4. Based on the measurement results, try an adjusted value as a tuning resistor. If the measured value increases towards full load, I would start with approximately 10 times the idle value.

Thank you, Ulf.

Regarding the VP 34, it was mentioned in the context of 'helping myself,' but it might be a mistake, as I haven't seen '34' mentioned anywhere else.
I've now figured out the pinout of the potentiometer: pins 2 and 3 are connected to the resistors (approximately 3 kOhms), and pin 1 is the wiper. Pin 2 is connected to 5V from the control unit. This voltage divider should be relatively easy to adjust. I'll try it...

Regards,
Lucas.

@Lucas:
Please let me (or the forum) know what results you got from your tests. I'm also interested in the data for the older 1Z engine with 182 Nm of torque.
