Hello.
I read in the SSP that there is supposed to be a connection for pressure measurement on the tandem pump of PD TDI engines. Is it possible to connect a fuel pressure sensor, for example from VDO, here? If so, does anyone happen to know what thread is used here, perhaps M10x1, like with the oil pressure sensor?

Hi.
Here's a little help: The VAS test device for tandem pumps, model 5187, is connected to the tandem pump connection. I plan to tap into the fuel pressure using a VDO pressure sensor, which is also used for oil pressure. Therefore, it's important to know what thread to use. Most pressure sensors have an M10 x 1 thread, although I can't determine this for the fuel pressure screw yet.
Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Hello.
I've checked the pressure several times on mine, but unfortunately, I can't tell you what kind of thread the screw has. However, I can give you a small tip.
Just try unscrewing it and measuring afterwards .
I don't quite understand the meaning. If your engine is working fine, there's no point in constantly measuring things.

hi
I have a problem with my MFA.
Connection for a gasoline pressure sensor or a diesel pressure sensor; I'd also like to connect that. I'll test the thread.

You can order the hollow screw for the tester from Freundlich under the part number VAS 5187A or ASE 404 520 01 000 for approximately 16 euros. It includes copper sealing rings. Then, you take this part to a local hydraulics specialist (we call them Simpex) and purchase a fitting for the hollow screw and a pressure hose up to 10 bar, and have the whole thing crimped. Don't try to use hose clamps; it won't work. You can then attach a pressure gauge or your VDO measuring device to the other end. Passat Variant BGW 2005

Even though it's really old... I just found this topic through Google.
In the parts list, the end cap screw is labeled 'M12x1.5x12'.
Test gauge with pressure gauge and air hose from the compressor + hose clamps, works perfectly... you just shouldn't use any cheap junk from the hardware store (10 clamps for €1.50...).
