T4 engine cut out while driving, and...

Hello fellow mechanics,
Vehicle: VW T4 TDI with ACV engine. It suddenly stopped working while driving on a country road and won't start anymore.
Relay 109 replaced, shut-off valve checked for functionality, and it is working correctly.
The power supply to the shut-off valve is initially active when the ignition is turned on. After approximately 1 minute, the power supply cuts off, and after another minute, the preheating lamp starts flashing.
Unfortunately, I don't have a VAG-Com device, and the vehicle is currently in my yard after being towed here. This means that the error memory has not been read yet.
I've already searched the forum, does anyone have any advice for me?

Basically, it will be difficult without knowing the error codes stored in the system's memory.

Is it related to the relay number 109? Because after that minute, there's still voltage present, and then the voltage disappears.

It could be from an ESP STG source, but it could also come from many other sources.

I couldn't figure it out, so I went to the helpful (but slow) person.
Diagnosis: Faulty fuel injection pump, specifically the metering unit. There is a 7-pin connector here, and the resistance between pin 5 and 6 should be measured; the value should be between 0.5 and 2.5 ohms. The measurement result was zero, indicating no contact!
So, there's no mechanical problem.
Repair costs: €1750.
Okay, so what now? Can I repair this thing?

Possibly, there is only a cable break at the connectors! This happens more often and is easy to fix! So, first check all the cables at the connector of the pump and also the corresponding connector .

Ouch, that's quite bad...

Fortunately, I was able to do it myself, which made it relatively "cheap" for my brother.
I can't make anything of this engine. When I compare it to mine, I get a better price and even have slightly more power... (and mine has significantly more mileage).

That was expensive; for our , the whole thing cost 1400 euros, including materials and labor. It was an ACV from 04/1996.

He probably needed new panes of glass for the glass palace .
