Hello everyone!

Can someone help me? icon_rolleyes.gif
I own a VW Passat TDI, model year 1995, with a 1Z engine.
I have the following problem.
1. When starting, I feel like I'm still towing a car.
(The car doesn't accelerate when starting.) If the engine speed is above 1500 RPM, then it accelerates normally as it should.
I've already replaced the fuel filter and the mass airflow sensor. I've also checked all the hoses and the EGR valve. Where else could the problem be?

2. When the engine is idling, and when driving, you feel vibrations from the engine in the car. It's as if the engine is bolted directly to the body. I've already replaced the engine mounts on both the front and rear, right side. However, nothing has changed.

Thank you in advance!!!

Hello, it's me again.
This morning, I noticed that the engine pulls normally as long as it's still cold. But once it warms up a bit (around 50°C), the problem starts again. This happens up to 1500 RPM.
It feels like the car lacks power, regardless of the gear you're in.

Have you already read the fault memory (using a Vagcom or Bosch KTS device)?
Is it running on three cylinders, or what? Does the steering wheel wobble when you accelerate?

Hello.
I performed error diagnostics using VCDS. The results showed no errors.
Then I conducted two measurement runs, once with the parameters MWB 3-8-11 and another time with 8-10-11. Can anyone tell me if everything is correct or not?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello,

Please check the fuel temperature, as this is used to calculate the fuel injection timing.
You can simply check the value using VAG-COM; if it seems implausible, you'll know where the error lies.

Best regards.

Hello!
I checked the fuel temperature. Could you please review the data and give me your opinion on it?

Hello,

Have you checked for any leaks in the charge air cooler system?
You have a pressure drop somewhere in the LOG system.

Okay, the injection process definitely seems to be working fine.

Best regards.

What exactly do you mean? Because I have checked all the small tubes and have not detected any visible leaks.
Best regards.

Hello,

In my Audi 80 B4, manufactured in '93, with a longitudinally mounted engine, the intercooler hose that connects directly to the turbocharger outlet was torn lengthwise.

I couldn't see the crack at all; it was on the bottom. I had to squeeze the hose to make the crack open and become visible.
The phenomenon was oil contamination of the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), and we were hearing a hissing sound during acceleration.

I couldn't notice any lack of power, because I already inherited the car with a torn intercooler hose, and initially I thought that a 90hp wastegate TDI was just like that – a bit of a lemon.

Another charge air hose was already worn but hadn't failed completely yet.

"Expand the intercooler piping and clean the intercooler mesh; in my case, it was quite clogged with dirt and oil residue after 240,000 km."

Greetings.

Andreas.

Hello everyone!

I rechecked the turbocharger and intercooler, and everything was in order.

I was recently advised to check the catalytic converter to see if it might be clogged, as a blockage can have negative consequences. When I took it apart...
After I unscrewed it, I received a shock. Because it was absolutely empty icon_eek.gif, I believe it was knocked out at some point. I didn't know that when I bought it.

I have learned that you can solder a resistor to the mass airflow sensor (MAF), which can increase the car's power. I have also done this. It was confirmed, but the fuel consumption increased by 0.5 liters. I found this information at the following address: https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=4258

What do you mean, could it damage the engine?
