"On my Golf 3 GTD Variant, manufactured in 1994, the vibration damper on the right driveshaft (not the one located under the pulley) is loose. Is it possible to replace just the damper disc, or does the entire driveshaft need to be replaced?"

Stick it in place, then reattach it to the same spot, and secure it - you're done.

You can also completely remove the damper and continue without it.

VW states that older models can also be driven without it.
