Hello,
'I had a faulty clutch pedal switch (see /viewtopic.php?t=17971). It always showed a status of 0, indicating 'clutch engaged.' I then installed a new switch. This one works correctly, and the car ran well for a while, then started acting strangely again. Since I drove for a short time without the switch and my car was very sensitive to the throttle as a result, I got the idea to disconnect it for a longer period to see how long it would take for the problem to reappear. In this state, the status is always 1, indicating 'clutch depressed.' What's noticeable is the extremely low fuel consumption. For years, with my 17-inch 225 tires, I consistently saw 7.2 liters in the onboard computer (FIS). Now, with the same driving style, it suddenly shows 6.0-6.1 liters.' I've driven for over 8 hours since the reset. The average speed is 48 km/h. Is the reduced fuel consumption explainable? In other words, is there a logical reason for it? Or is there a defect in the cable of the switch or in the control unit?
I didn't perform a basic setting/initialization in each case... Should I have done that so that the control unit could adapt to the new values?

Thank you in advance for your answers icon_smile.gif.

Does your FIS only show so little information?
'Or have you also documented the reduced fuel consumption based on the amount of fuel used?'

Even with the 'DIY' tuning using a 180-ohm resistor, the FIS (presumably a display or sensor) shows much too low a reading.

Thomas.
