B4 Avant, 1Z - Best way to connect to the OBD port

Hello everyone,

What is the best way to access the intercooler (IC) and its air ducts (from the turbocharger to the engine) on an Audi 80 Avant (B4) with a 1Z engine (202 Nm and standard IC)?

Does the car need to be lifted onto a platform, or even does the fender need to be removed? From up here, I don't see any possibility.

The lower engine cover needs to be removed, and possibly the front bumper as well, but it should all be fairly straightforward.

"I've been working on cars hardcore for almost 25 years, and I've never had a proper lift; I rarely have a pit. 99% of the time, I work on everything on the ground or with ramps (which you can get for 20 euros at the hardware store). It works perfectly fine with the B4 [car model]."

The engine cover can be removed in 5 minutes, and the bumper doesn't take much longer. There are 2 screws at the front, from underneath (Allen key 6mm), and there should be a few more sheet metal screws on the side, near the fender.
