Hello everyone,
My friend and I have a Multicar with a 1Y diesel engine, but it has too little power. Last year, we officially purchased a Golf 3 Variant TDI (engine code ALE) as a total loss vehicle with a purchase agreement. We stripped it for parts and officially scrapped the body. Now, we want to install the engine from the Golf into the Multicar. The mechanical aspects aren't the problem, but the electronics are. Specifically, the immobilizer, as we no longer have any keys for the vehicle. I know that deactivating immobilizers is a delicate matter, but is anyone able to help us with this, or offer any other advice?

Here's an overview of the data:
Volkswagen Golf 3 Variant TDI (ALE with electronic throttle).
5-speed manual transmission, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and Climatronic (automatic climate control).
Immobilizer control unit 1H0953257BB.

Please help.
Best regards, Steini.

Since you already have the WFS-STG, all you need now is the reading coil and a key with a transponder.
It should be possible to find them together in a bundle for around 20 euros.
Tape the key and coil together, connect to the WFS, and configure everything with VCDS or during the icon_biggrin.gif.
trained - ready.

Best regards, Micha.

I also have a key blank. How am I supposed to get a key with a transponder, especially since I don't even have the corresponding tags with the relevant numbers?

What's actually in the book and VCDS?

Best regards, Steini.

Either from a recycling company or directly from Volkswagen.
Part number: 6N0837219 (costs approximately €15).

Sure, I'm stupid. I only need the numbered tags if the key also has to fit the lock. I don't need them at all.
What I still need to know is: where should the black cable from the WFS-STG be connected?

2x brown = 31
gr/ws = Engine Control Unit (ECU)
gr = diagnostic connector
sw = ???

Thank you.
Best regards, Steini.

"gr/ws (W)" and "gr (K)" are both diagnoses.
Think carefully about what might still be missing to make such a STG happy icon_wink.gif.

[edit] ok, the question can also be interpreted as: which positive terminal is missing icon_arrow.gif terminal 15)? [/edit]

Okay, so black is terminal 15, which I probably could have figured out myself.

According to the wiring diagram, only the gray wire goes to the diagnostic connector, while the gray/white wire goes to the engine control unit at terminal T68/61.

Can you please provide me with the pin assignments for the diagnostic connector? I'm still missing that information.

Regards,
Steini.

From a directional perspective, it's correct, as you described.
It's just that the diagnostic connector of the MSTG module is labeled 'W', and it's located in the WFS module.
is bridged to K.

You should associate the following with the diagnosis:
Pin 7 (K-Line)
Pin 4 (Ground).
Pin 16 (12V - Terminal 30)

I spent the whole day in my workshop today and made some progress, but I still have some open questions.

1. Diagnostic connector:
I have a yellow wire connected to pin 15 on the diagnostic connector. Where should it go?

2. Where should the 'S' terminal, which is colored brown/red, be connected on the ignition switch? It connects to the fuse box once, and there's a loose connector.

Hilfe.

4. Wer kann mir sagen welcher LMM da rein gehört? He is missing.

Thank you. Best regards, Steini.

Hi,

"You really need to get your hands on some proper wiring diagrams. The only solenoid valve that's controlled by vacuum is the one for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system in the ALE."

Pin 15 on the diagnostic connector is +12V.

Regarding the mass airflow sensor (MAF): How about searching on Google for something like "MAF sensor ALE" or simply going to your local VAG parts dealer and buying one there; they can help you find the correct one.

Best regards, Rainer.
