I'm not sure if that's a good idea. If I do that, I'll not only have one error, but 50 other errors in the memory, and there's a chance the engine won't even start. Furthermore, I also don't have a way to obtain a suitable MSG (message) for testing.

Speculation: To me, it sounds more like a loose connection on the CAN bus between the Message System Gateway (MSG) and the instrument cluster (KI).
