Hello everyone,
'After replacing the cylinder head and related components on my Leon ARL about a month ago due to the black smoke issue, I'm now experiencing what I consider to be high fuel consumption, which has settled around 8.5 liters.'
The problem of smoke generation has been resolved through a replacement, although I can't say for sure whether it was the NW or the PDe components that were causing it.
The actual value is real and differs by approximately 1 liter from the MFA (manufacturer's filling amount) which indicates a need for 7.5 liters.
I'm not concerned about the deviation of the MFA itself, but rather about its connection to the ZK dive.
In addition to the timing belt, I also replaced the serpentine belt, roller bearing, and water pump.
Before the repair, the car had a real-world fuel consumption of 6 liters. The driving style was the same before and after the repair.
Do the elements need to be adjusted on an AT head? (I didn't adjust them because everything seemed complete, and I couldn't find anything about it in the repair manual.)
'No errors are stored in the diagnostic system (FS), and the valve timing corresponds to factory specifications.'
Driven 4800 km since the ignition coil was replaced.
I am certainly aware of the increased friction values due to the new parts, and I don't believe they justify the increased fuel consumption.
Thank you in advance for your help.

It's good that nothing is wrong "down there"... you should be happy about that. See the technical article on setting up PD units by Ulf for more information.

I have a ZK (likely referring to a Z-Wave network) with devices connected, so I assume they are installed correctly and the settings are appropriate. The devices were not left outside or exposed to any adverse conditions.
If the factory settings are incorrect, then it will be a case for parts replacement. With a price tag of almost €4000, we can expect that!

Do the pivot levers of the PD drive need to be detached when mounting or dismounting the central locking system (to access the central locking screws)?
"If the tilt lever is removed, you definitely need to readjust the PDE (Pressure Drop Element). Adjusting/checking it takes about 10 minutes and only requires a 6mm Allen key and an 18mm ring wrench for securing - you could have easily found that much time back then."

Okay, at the very least, the process parameters (PDEs) should be set up in a way that nothing can go wrong. I assumed that the old PDEs were simply transferred to the new system and then adjusted accordingly.

'No, I specifically bought a head with certain features because I wasn't sure where the smoke was coming from. Besides, the camshaft already showed some signs of wear.'
That's why I skipped the setup process.
Is it possible that the increased consumption is due to this?
Shouldn't a significant mechanical deviation in the tilting lever be visible in the maintenance and repair manual (MWB) 23?

Do the valve timings match?
Don't assume it will fit, but check according to the manufacturer's specifications .

I agree about the issue of things breaking down, but it would be helpful to have an approach for troubleshooting. What are the effects of incorrectly configured pressure drop elements (PDEs) with too much "bypass" in the high-pressure chamber? Does it cause a delayed pressure build-up?
