Hello!
I'm new here and already have a few questions. I converted my T4 from a 1.9L 60HP engine to a complete 2.5 TDI setup (ACV 102HP). I'm having the following problem:
Not normal performance across the entire range of boost pressure. Boost pressure is okay. Mass airflow sensor is okay. EGR system 'failed'. ESP is activated, timing belt and tensioners are all new, new valve cover gasket, no errors in the memory, new fuel filter, pressure hoses are okay, ESP start is okay; Measured values during driving are okay.
Well, I'm not really sure how to proceed, as I'm not a diesel expert.
Can someone give me a tip?
Thank you very much.
Rene.

Okay, let's switch to German... Does your car have no power throughout the entire RPM range?
Have you ever run a benchmark test using Ulf?
Ulf also created a list of potential issues, or whatever it's called, that you could check when troubleshooting performance problems.
P.S. Did you subtract the 1000 mbar for atmospheric pressure when you were conducting your test drive and determining the boost pressure?
Regards,
arne

Hello,
Not to mention the underlying conditions...
Just post your measured values. Tschüss

Hello.
I checked the readings during the drive and compared them to the list from the forum. The LD (likely referring to a pressure reading) is around 1900 mbar (which is approximately 0.9 bar), and the ESP timing seems correct. I honestly have no idea what else it could be. It actually runs quite well, but when the turbo kicks in, there's not much more power. The hoses also seem to be okay.
Best regards,
Rene

Hello Rene,
"However, boost pressure is just one parameter among many. What about air mass, fuel injection volume, and valve timing?"
Again: Did you take the surrounding conditions into account during the measurement? Tschüss

So, I've checked everything one more time.
Coolant temperature approximately 81°C at idle. Display group 0:

3-0
4-40
5-94
6-206
7-95
8-179
9-111
10-107
Injection rate: approximately 8.2 mg/h.
I had error code 1242 in the memory! Then I disconnected and reconnected the battery, and I was able to clear the error! I took it for a test drive, and I thought it was going to rip the front axle right off, that's how it started . What do you think about these values? What could it have been caused by? It's a difference like day and night.
Best regards,
Rene

Hello Rene,
According to your settings, the coolant temperature is not 81°C. If it were, the value in field 7 would be below 80. Therefore, please consider the operating conditions.
Error code 1242 indicates a problem with the power stages in your engine control unit (ECU). In your engine, the most common cause of this error is the N18 valve (exhaust gas recirculation valve).
Impacts: Reduced performance and increased emission levels.
Please check the AGR.
The exhaust gas recirculation function is checked in function 04.
Default setting. This procedure sets the valve to the...

For the measurement to be accurate, it must obviously function correctly. Tschüss

I probably made a mistake earlier in field 77 . But why is the difference between 5 and 6 so large? What exactly can I achieve by changing channels 01 and 03 (ESP amount; Lmm) through adaptation? I'm curious to know if it's easy to make a big mistake there.
Thank you very much, Rene.

Hello.
To better assess fields 5 and 6, please perform a test run under full load (see the error database).
Please measure block 0.10 and block 11.
Quite a bit has already been written about the topic of adaptation in the forum and the error database. Please take a look. Tschüss

Thank you so much for the great help!
I'll drive it for a while and see what happens, and whether any more errors occur.
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Rene
