Hi,
I'm going to order an oil temperature and LDA (Lean Direct Injection) display from VDO this week.
Okay, I understand everything so far. I want to tap into the boost pressure at the EGR valve, meaning I'll drill a hole in the fitting, insert a threaded stud, and connect a hose.
The real question, however, is:
Of course, air is also being forced into the hose that connects to the gauge. And that hose is about 2 meters long.
1.) Wouldn't this make the display completely sluggish? At least initially, until the tube is "filled," it should be noticeable.
2.) Is the loss of performance due to "air leakage" in the hose?
More broadly, I wonder if an LDA (Linear Drive Accelerator) makes sense for a production engine... Ultimately, it's a shame to only install one display, as the standard dashboard in the 6K Cupra has space for two.
The oil temperature is extremely important to me for protecting the engine, and otherwise, VDO only offers instruments that you really don't need... I don't think things like battery voltage are worth retrofitting.
It would be great if someone could answer the questions mentioned above.

Is the loss of performance due to "air leakage" in the hose? Quote: | No. For that, you would need hoses approximately the size of a garden hose with open ends, which would create significant leaks.

1: The gauge isn't too slow; the tube should have a lumen of more than 1 mm, but it doesn't necessarily need to be 6 mm.
Some people even install a valve to dampen the vibrations. This is done when the needle is jumping or twitching.
Regarding point 2: I guess you wouldn't notice any difference there.
Scientifically speaking, you are likely correct: the more dead volume in the control line, the "slower" the actuator will respond/be regulated. It simply introduces a time delay. Gruß, der Teileklaus

My hose has an inner diameter of 2.5mm. The LDA indicator doesn't flicker or lag; it's working perfectly, as far as I can tell.
I also tapped into the AGR (Abgasrückführung). An LDA (Lambda Probe) is generally always a good idea. You can immediately see if there's something wrong with the turbocharger.

Well,
The technical article is quite convincing, especially considering that my charger has 180,000 km on it, was completely inspected at 162,000 km and found to be in excellent condition, and I don't consume any oil.
Ultimately, I'll definitely retrofit the LDA, as I can't think of any other useful display besides the oil temperature.
I just need to figure out how to get a suitable threaded nipple tomorrow.
I'll keep following up on this and report back when I have time... but that might take a while, as I still need to order the parts. Also, the VDO LDA pressure sensor up to 1.5 bar is currently marked as "out of stock" in our IT system.

'Oil pressure is also a good thing to monitor. Originally, I wanted to have displays in the car showing boost pressure, oil pressure, and oil temperature.'

Yes, 3 ads simply don't fit into the original recesses designed for them in the SEAT. I don't want to force anything in; it has to look original.

I have the original oil pressure and voltmeter gauges in the center console of my old Ibiza 6k, and the oil temperature is already displayed in the MFA (multifunction display).
I placed the LDA on the upper left side of the dashboard, so that it's easily visible and aesthetically pleasing, with the blue-red color matching the dashboard illumination.
