Hello,
Yesterday, I bought a "new" Golf 4, and it has the following issues:
MKB = AKL
3 Faults Found:
00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30
36-10 - Open Circuit - Intermittent.
00537 - Lambda (Oxygen Sensor) Regulation.
18-10 - Upper Limit - Intermittent
00525 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (G39)
28-10 - Short to Plus - Intermittent
Is the lambda sensor broken? I saw that the cable at the back isn't in the best condition, and on an invoice, there's mention of engine speed fluctuations and jerky behavior when shifting into reverse. Apparently, they cleaned the throttle body 20,000 km ago, but I don't know if it helped or not; I only have the invoices.
Should I replace the Lambda sensor or do something else?
Are there 2 Lambdas, or just 1?
What is the price of this?
Best regards and many thanks.
Patrick.

Lambda sensors are expensive, so always check the entire wiring, clear the error code, and then see when it reappears.
Cleaning the throttle body on the 1.6L engine... you'll likely get used to doing that, as it needs to be done periodically on that engine. With proper maintenance, it's a fairly reliable engine.

I'll check the measurement block 11 tomorrow and verify the lambda values. What do the others think about that?
As I said, I noticed that the cable from the lambda sensor doesn't seem to be quite right; it's hanging a bit strangely.
Should you replace it with a brand new one, or is a used one okay? I don't want it to give inaccurate readings again.
Because if it's nothing, I'll just sell the car again .

Hello, that doesn't necessarily have to be the case with you!
"But that's exactly what I figured out: The KGE hose is defective, probes 1 and 2 have been replaced, the throttle body has been cleaned twice, and the emissions test passed. However, the throttle body was difficult to keep at a certain high RPM!"
First, order one probe. Then, also order the second one. Unfortunately, they are expensive. Gruß, der Teileklaus

Hello guys,
Could someone please tell me which vehicle manual (MWB) I should consult and what standard values I need to check to ensure the lambda sensor is working correctly?
Do I have one Lambda or two Lambdas?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

Okay, thank you!
In which measurement blocks should I now look, and what are the standard values?
Unfortunately, I can't find anything anywhere .
Thank you.

Measurement blocks 10, 11, and 12.
Take a look at where the learning values are going. Wiring problems, such as damaged connection cables to the probe, should obviously be fixed.
Ideally, the engine should be operated near a lambda value of 1 under partial load, while a slightly richer mixture (less than 1) is used at high RPMs and full load.
Best regards, Rainer.
