I'm not sure, but would adding a can of diesel cleaner to a full tank of fuel be okay for a PD (pump-injector) engine?
The background is this: I have a 130 horsepower engine, and in my opinion, it's not performing as well as it should. I just drove 700 kilometers on the highway, and it's noticeably improved. That's why I might want to try adding a fuel cleaner to the next tank of gas and drive on the highway again to see if it gets even better.
What do you think?

I wouldn't do it unnecessarily: My 130hp TDI, like many others, undergoes a change in behavior after a long highway drive, especially after a period of short/medium-distance driving, due to .

I recently poured something into my PPD.
It wasn't running badly, but I think it's running a little better now.
However, I can't really provide concrete evidence for that. It was more of an experiment.
"Also, I'm always changing too many factors at once, like the air filter in this case, so the effects probably overlap and make it hard to tell what's causing what."
But even the (disposal instruction that is only discovered after use) , namely for the can itself, which states that it should be disposed of as hazardous waste , prevents me from using it again.

The wear and tear is definitely there... it's like a car that's been driven 100,000 km in city traffic, and that's not ideal for someone who only drives on the highway.
I just have concerns about the potential for sludge buildup in the  PDE, but maybe I'm just worrying too much. I would like to ask an Audi specialist workshop about it, but I've lost faith in such workshops because they are staffed almost exclusively by people who lack knowledge but have a lot of "information" that they want to convey to the average customer... }

It's a matter of faith.
No Audi service center will be able to help you with that. The fluid is approved for use.
Just spend the 8 euros and put it in.
If the engine fails at some point, you won't be able to definitively prove, even to yourself, that it was caused by the additive. Maybe "Grandma" already damaged the engine beforehand.
But I don't know what effect this stuff is supposed to have on partial differential equations. I suspect it probably does very little, so neither good nor bad.
Motoröl frisch machen, neue Filter rundherum (Öl, Diesel, Luft, Innenluft) und dann mal etwas schärfer über die Bahn scheuchen. Das It will probably help.

EDIT: One thing I've noticed, which then becomes a question of "is it worth it," is Aral Ultimate. My PPD runs smoother with it. But 10 cents more is something to consider...
Only because I have to decide between 78 and 88 cents, I'll just get it . Transparency, Teamwork

The car was just at the Audi service center for maintenance, so I'll just try adding this supplement to the fuel for one or two tanks and see if it makes a difference...

I don't want to be too critical, but that basically means "lunch will arrive tomorrow," which is to say, it won't happen at all.
What did they do there? At most, they probably just followed the maintenance schedule.
I would always replace everything with new parts on a used car, regardless of what the service booklet claims.

I agree with you; I actually see it the same way.
But since the car is only supposed to last me through the summer, I absolutely won't lift a finger to fix it.

Hello,
I once tipped it over in the AVB (presumably a specific container or device), but there was no noticeable effect.

I do it this way with the common-rail system.
when the tank is almost empty,
Should I add my own cleaning mixture to the engine while it's running?
(200ml petroleum, 200ml 2-stroke oil, 150ml IPA - pre-mixed).
Let the engine run for a few minutes.
and then let it sit for a few hours.
Then I'll fill the tank with diesel and add another 500ml of the mixture.
and everything is fine.
If an injector was previously slightly stressed (causing a rough idle).
Then you can already see the difference when you pour in the first can.
The engine is running very differently.
Of course, what's important is:
Just let it idle.
and not too much IPA.
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

hi...
I've also frequently had problems with cars that weren't running well (I mostly drive in the city). I've tried a lot of things, but basically, I think it's all nonsense.
I think getting onto the highway and flooring it for about 10 km is the best way to do it...
Neither the cleaner nor the 2-stroke oil convinced me.
For a smooth and quiet engine operation in the city, 2-stroke oil was good, but otherwise...?
