Passat Tire Wear: 3B Sedan, 98, 110 HP AFN

Regarding the Conti Sport Contact tires, size 205/55 R16, 91 W, I'm experiencing the following problem: The rear tires develop a 'sawtooth' pattern (uneven wear) at a tread depth of approximately 4 mm, which creates very annoying humming noises. My driving style is calm, mostly highway driving, and the tire wear is very low (85,000 km with this set). The shock absorbers have been tested and are in good condition. Does anyone else experience this problem? Could it be related to the brand of tires? What other tire brands or models would you recommend?

'This problem isn't just specific to these tires. It's typical for block-pattern tires that are 'eternally' mounted on the rear axle of a car. My suggestion is either to buy tires with a V-profile or to rotate them from front to back more frequently.'
