Hello,
After reviewing the old horror stories about deposits caused by the EGR system here again, I have a few questions, and I hope you are still willing to answer this annoying topic.
Is there a simple diagnostic method for my engine (BPW = Audi 2.0 TDI PD DPF) to determine its current condition? Or are endoscopes or specialized tools absolutely necessary?
Does anyone have experience with how long a cleaning process takes, or what it might cost (especially if I were to hire an independent workshop to do it)?
To my knowledge, the particulate filter (DPF) becomes clogged with ash, which cannot be broken down like soot and gradually clogs the filter (which is why the manufacturer only approves oils with low ash content). Does anyone have any idea whether deposits from the EGR system also pose a risk to the DPF?
Thank you very much!
