Passat 3B Comfort Lock, 1998

Hello everyone,

On my Passat 3B, 1998, when I open the doors using the door lock, and hold the key in the unlock position, or vice versa, all the windows (except the front and rear windshield, haha...) open and close.

What's no longer working is that when I press the window button for the driver's window to open it, I have to hold the button down. Previously, I only needed to tap the button and the window would go all the way down. What could be the cause?

And another question: Should the windows also be able to be operated by holding down the button on the remote control for a longer period?

Lower the window completely and keep the button pressed.
Until you hear a click from the door. Then, lower the window again and hold the button down until you hear another click. Repeat this procedure for each window.
