Mercedes 124 Glow Plugs Replacement (1990)

Hello,
After checking the glow plug system, I now need to replace the ignition coil.
Is it better to completely remove the entire air filter housing to access the intake manifold from the right side for tightening?
Using a ratchet wrench with a double-offset of either 3/8 or 1/4 inch, pass it through the bridge.
or should the intake manifold be completely removed to access it?
Has anyone ever done this before, and do you have any tips?

Sure, dear TK!

Disassembling is often faster than struggling with it! Then you can easily access the spark plugs, and you can hold the ignition coil connector in place while loosening the spark plugs. Everything else is just unnecessary fiddling that wastes time.

If you have the MB special tool to remove the crankshaft pulley, specifically that long socket with the tight cross joint and clamp inside, then you can skip removing the fan belt.
I would only remove the grounding bridge if the ESD devices are also being replaced.
If you only have a simple cross joint on the ratchet and it's wobbling around, I would remove the air filter, because otherwise certain spark plugs will drive you crazy. But even with the air filter removed, it's still a challenging job.
