Hello,

What type of gold-plated connectors are used for an MJ07 MQ350 (JMA) and an MJ08 MQ250 (JYJ)?

I think the Golf might be due for some new parts after 122,000 km.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

The online catalog shows the following: Based on my intuition, I would say it's a standard 75W90 oil with the 50150 specification. Castrol TAF-X is also suitable.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE GEAR OIL - Liqui AP4433 (GL4+)
Viscosity grade: SAE 75W-90, synthetic.
API GL 4+; Ford ESD M2C 175-A. LIQUI MOLY also recommends this product for vehicles that require the following specifications: VW Norm 50150 (G50); ZF TE-ML 02D/08A - Suitable for passenger car manual transmissions and state-of-the-art transaxle transmissions. - Primarily used in VW transmissions, as well as by numerous other vehicle manufacturers.

Aber mal was anderes... das ist ja ne Lebensfüllung und anders als bei Automatikgetrieben glaube ich daran wirklich. Solange keine Probleme hast, würd ich da nix machen. Never touch...

Greetings.

I don't think it brings fulfillment.

Just like servo oil in VWs:
It has an expiration date on the shelf, but somehow, when it's in the car, it suddenly seems to last forever?!

What are the G 52 171 A2 (expensive) and G 52 512 A2 (cheap) that I've heard about elsewhere?

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Take a look here for an example of a difference http://www.fuchs-europe.de/uploads/media/Preisliste_PKW_1-2009_02.pdf.
TITAN SINTOFLUID FE G 052 512 A2, reduced viscosity.
TITAN SINTOFLUID G 052 171 A1/A2, standard grade.
The price difference here is €1.50 per liter, meaning that the lower viscosity option costs more!

Lifetime supply...
Believe it... That's really true. icon_twisted.gif

As soon as it is gone from the transmission, the expiration date no longer applies (at least according to the vehicle manufacturer). icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi there,
I would also recommend changing the oil as a preventative measure. I'm not sure if it absolutely needs to be done after 100,000+ km, but I remember that in my A6 with 380,000 km, the transmission sometimes felt like it didn't want to engage first, second, or third gear; the shifter would simply feel a certain resistance, regardless of whether it was cold or warm. Because it was annoying in city traffic, I changed the transmission oil to TAF-X, and suddenly it felt like I had a new transmission in the car.
Besides, there was no visible (shiny) wear in the old oil; only the color was slightly darker than that of the new oil.
"Lifelong fulfillment" likely refers to the calculated lifespan of approximately 250,000 km or so.

Best regards from Berlin.

"Lifetime fill" is probably accurate. When the oil runs out, the transmission won't last much longer either.

On the other hand, this is likely to end badly... Because the oil is running out, the transmission won't last much longer... :blushing and running away:

The shelf life indication applies only to oil that is stored, not when it is in use. If the transmission oil is stored for too long, the oil additives will gradually precipitate out and no longer mix with the oil; they will "flake out."
Lifelong fulfillment?! A lemon butterfly doesn't fold lemons either icon_biggrin.gif.
Well, anyone who wants to believe it can do so. Even oil with additives ages and loses its properties. Eventually, for example, it may no longer be able to bind water and contaminants.

When do you expect to see "something" achieved?

I have a 2.5-year-old vehicle with 122,000 km (approximately 76,000 miles) and an MQ250 engine for sale, as well as a 3-year-old vehicle with 60,000 km (approximately 37,000 miles) and an MQ350 engine.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

I estimate that this will be reached at around 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers.

Wonderful (convincing myself).

Then the Golf will get a fresh boost, and if that helps, I'll know when it's the Passat's turn.

Hi there,
Okay, as described elsewhere /viewtopic.php?t=15656&highlight=pennzoil, I changed the oil at 155,000 km and about 6 years ago, and found little to no residue or discoloration in the oil or on the magnetic drain plug. It shifts a bit better now, but recently, in the very cold region of Carinthia, there were again "problems" shifting from reverse into first gear...
Please report back after the change, preferably during the colder period.

Here's a little information about the topic of "lifetime filling."

Mercedes also provides a lifetime fill for the automatic transmissions, but they are among the best customers of a transmission oil change system.

Bump it up again:

Since I'm currently getting oil from them, the question is whether their ERF product is suitable for use as transmission fluid.

http://www.pentosin.de/flexxtrader/data/usf/Pentosin%20G5%20SAE%2075W-80_D.pdf

It seems to comply with the G 52 171 A2 standard, or am I mistaken?
