Footwell vent motor defective.
What is the ETN number for the footwell air vent servo motor in a 2004 Passat with Climatronic?
Where is this actuator located?

Part number 8D1 820 511 F, approximately 100 euros.
But you don't want to trade it, do you? I'm sure of that .
Panel out.
Loosen the crossbeam.
Lift the housing where the atomizer is located.
And now you can replace the servo motor.
The part is called an "actuator for the footwell and defrost flap." It should be located somewhere near the air inlet.
Regards,
Sure, here's the translation:
"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used to describe a sudden burst of something, such as laughter or anger.

Phew, it's not that much to remove; there are worse things, for example, taking out the entire control panel .
Is the engine mounted on the left-hand side? NA,Gehörlose wie ich können auch Schrauben! Ihr HÖRT ich FÜHLE! It has to be the entire control panel removed...or am I completely misunderstanding you?

Mathias seems to understand correctly... But I suspect T3 Surfer does too; his smiley suggested that.
Just to be clear: "VW-Schalttafel" is colloquial for "dashboard."
According to VW, the dashboard needs to be removed to replace the 3C battery disconnect relay (STH battery). However, I managed to do it without removing the dashboard, although it required a lot of fiddling.
And if I remember correctly, there was a previous inquiry about some Climatronic actuator where, according to VW, the dashboard had to be removed. However, there was another way to do it, although it involved a lot of fiddling. Maybe it was in a link from Ulf about the actuator problems on the Ibiza? Otherwise, I would recommend using Google. You're certainly not the first person to have this problem.
My sources don't clearly indicate exactly where the part is located. I understand that it's attached to the casing, which also houses the evaporator. So, let's take a look at which side the air conditioning lines enter the interior.
Based on my experience, it's usually located on the passenger side in most models. The order of airflow is likely: pollen filter, blower motor, Y-piece with recirculation air intake (where the sought-after actuator is located), evaporator, coolant heat exchanger, and air distribution.
I'm not entirely sure how this thing manages to provide both ventilation and footwell airflow simultaneously. It's probably drawing air in through the footwell vents for the ventilation system, or something similar.
Note: The 3B model only has one recirculation/footwell control motor, not separate controls for the driver and passenger.

Hmm, if the part is there, I'll first try to see if I can manage without removing any components. Maybe raising the "A" bracket a few centimeters will be enough.
Let me Google to see if I can find anything about that.
Guste100: It uses two rods, driven by a motor, to control both flaps. Some even have three or more.
