Golf 1J documentation up to 05/99, sunroof stuck (Solution)

Sunroof is stuck when opening/closing.

Cause:
The sunscreen slide is coming out of its track. Sliders, detached slider parts, or loose sunscreen can become lodged in the mechanism of the guide frame.
Note: The sliders may come loose, for example:

The voltage is being pushed upwards.

While peeling off and removing the protective film.

By tilting it to one side when sliding the sunshade into place.


Solution:
When performing maintenance or replacing parts, it is important to ensure that no fragments of the slider remain within the mechanism of the guide frame!

Modified replacement parts, sliders as individual items, or sunshades with sliders, are marked on the packaging with a green dot, with a diameter of 19 mm.
