BKP Motor: Adjusting New PDE?

Hello,

My friend has a Passat 3C with the BKP engine.
"As of today, the engine will not start. The error memory contains the following:"

005399 - Stromversorgungsrelais für Motorsteuergerät (J271 o. J363): elektr. Fehler
P1517 - 007 - Short circuit to ground - Intermittent.

008518 - Fuel injector(s): Disconnection.
P2146 - 009 - Short to ground.

I had him test all the injectors. On the third cylinder, there is continuity from pin 1 to ground.
I'm not entirely sure anymore, and I can't find any relevant threads about it. Does the new component need to be adjusted to the engine control unit? If so, does anyone know which adjustment channel is required?

Have you checked the PDE wiring harness?

Unfortunately, you have to purchase the PDE from BKP through an authorized dealer. These are Siemens injectors, not Bosch injectors. They are not available through regular retail channels.

No, the wiring harness between the head and the control unit has not yet been checked. But the PDE (presumably a sensor or module) and the wiring harness (for safety) will be purchased from the dealer. The short circuit is located within the PDE itself.

In your case, the PDE needs to be replaced. This requires the adapter kit for the cylinder head. Including the screws and repair kits for the PDE, the total cost will be approximately €700, plus about 3 hours of labor.

You actually need to adjust the CR valves.

There is a TPI document about it.
