Hi everyone,
I'm currently in the process of extracting a 1Z engine from a donor 1994 Passat and I'm not finding any signs of a WFS (immobilizer system). Initially, I thought the DWA (alarm system) module (1H0 953 233 B) might be the WFS, but information about it ranges from "has integrated WFS" to "doesn't exist." So, I'm looking for another way. I haven't found any clues around the ignition switch regarding a reading coil, and now the entire dashboard is removed, with almost all the wiring disconnected, and still no sign of a reading coil or any extra WFS components. Therefore:
Does anyone know for sure whether the MSG 028 906 021 B requires a WFS (Wiring Fault Simulation) and, if so, where it might be located?
The car is quite muddy on the front left side, and there might be something hidden there. I also wouldn't rule out the possibility of pests, as the car has been in a dilapidated condition for a while.
Smoky greetings.
Peter.
