Subject: Regarding your email... (or something similar, depending on the context)

Before I go have lunch, I'm going to say that you should really use the search function.
I did it!
I'm having the following problem (Audi A4, year 1999):
The engine control unit (ECU) doesn't have a boost pressure hose where you can simply insert a Y-connector.
That is to say, according to forum posts, there are two possible options: According to Ulf, you can drill out the AGR valve and then remove the shavings (it's best to remove it for this!), or...
or insert a needle somewhere into the pressurized air intake.

Neither option is really to my liking. Is there really no simple way to tap into the boost pressure?
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Thank you & Best regards.
Jens.

Hi,

I tapped into the signal from the boost pressure sensor and built an electrical display.
It's not really less effort than drilling the AGR valve.
The AGR valve can be removed in 5 minutes, provided you don't have to spend time searching for the tools first icon_smile.gif.
If your intercooler has a blind plug on top (where the boost pressure sensor is located if it's not mounted in the plastic tube between the intercooler and the intake manifold), you can also install a hose fitting in that blind plug. This was my first solution, which I only used for troubleshooting.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a part number for the blind plug yet, as it's very difficult to read when it's installed.
If you have one installed and are upgrading it, please let me know the part number.

Best regards, Rainer.
