Hello everyone...
My colleague is having a problem with a BKD TDI engine in his Skoda Octavia...
The diagnostic tool shows a target boost pressure of approximately 1090 mbar, but the actual value is over 2600 mbar, regardless of whether the engine is running or not. The MSG (Main System Module) has already been sent in for inspection and returned as 100% error-free. All accessible cables have been tested without any findings.
The charger doesn't seem to actually have this LD (likely referring to a specific technical parameter), it probably only shows up in the tester.
Error memory is empty...

The simplest thing to do would be to replace or disconnect the boost pressure sensor and then see what reading it gives. If the wiring and the engine control unit (ECU) are okay, then the sensor itself is likely the problem. BKD GRF

We disconnected the sensor, and then the displayed pressure went back to 2200 mbar, and the motor started sputtering. After reconnecting it, the display remains at 2200, but the motor stops sputtering.

Incorrect sensor installed, for example, installing the vacuum sensor 036906051C instead of the pressure sensor 038906051C?

No... everything is still the same... no parts have been replaced... the car came out of normal operation with this issue.

Then the wiring will be messed up...
Then the easiest thing to do is to order the replacement wiring harness with part number 1KD 971 658.
and connect. Disconnect the 4 pins of the LD sender wiring harness from the MSG, and then connect the new...
Secure the cable, run the wiring harness from the MSG to the sensor, and connect it.
Just secured everything neatly with tape and cable ties so that it wouldn't rub against anything.
or melts, and the value should return to around 1000.

Very strange, because the value only appears when there's a "near short circuit" condition after applying +5V.
Perhaps someone has installed some kind of "boost pressure" device or similar into the wiring harness, which is now partially broken down.
Best regards, Rainer.

@vagtuning: If I had more karma, there would be a huge upvote for the part number of the repair kit! But still, he said that the wiring harness was checked...
"@Freakazoid: You sent the MSG to Bosch, and they surely checked if there was a calibration map on it, right? But from what I understand, the error appeared suddenly in that car and has remained unchanged since then?"
Have you checked the compact connectors of the MSG (Main System Generator) and the LD (Laser Distance) sensor for corrosion? Also, please check the 14-pin connector near the battery! BKD GRF

'The error has been fixed... it was the boost pressure sensor... so, something quite simple. As soon as the laser distance sensor (LDS) malfunctions, the load value freezes and only changes again when a functional LDS is installed or when the existing one starts providing new values.'

When did you have a boost pressure of 1.6 bar?
She doesn't even have my 170 horsepower car!
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation. Transparency, Teamwork

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

I'm experiencing a similar problem with my BMN 2.0 TDI 170 HP Touran. Where can I find the pins for the wiring harness on the engine control unit?

Hello,
Which specific engine are you referring to? It would be best to post a car scan so we can identify the exact engine control unit (ECU).
Best regards, Rainer.
