Do the VAG engines differ in their engine blocks?
Specifically, will I receive a BKD instead of a BLB/BRE being installed?
Do I find the corresponding mounting holes for the engine, and are only the attached components different?
Thank you and best regards.
Toto.

The 170 hp models have a set of balance shafts in the oil pan when installed longitudinally... so something must be different.

Not quite.
The 3C is the only cross-country 170 model that also has an automatic weapon system.
That, at the very least, distinguishes the BMR (3C with) from the BMN (the others, transverse without).

... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Okay, that's reassuring. I've heard that the oil pressure relief valve sometimes fails, and because the oil pump is connected to it, this often leads to engine damage. I'm glad that can't happen in the 170hp PD Touran.
