Is it possible to adjust the fuel injection pump from a VW T4 2.4D with engine code AAB so that it always operates at 3000 RPM, regardless of the load?
The context is a 40kW emergency generator with an engine failure, and this engine could be installed in it. The original motor had a rotary pump with a regulator that had a fixed stop for adjusting the speed.
As far as I recall, the pump enters an unregulated range at around 2000 RPM of engine speed and would require constant readjustment. The motor must not exceed a speed of 3100 RPM due to the risk of overvoltage.
If anyone is familiar with these types of pumps, I would appreciate their help.
It's a rather unusual question, but maybe someone knows the answer.
