Hi,
I just removed the vacuum pump from my 1Z engine due to oil leaks. When turning the pump by hand, it feels rough in certain spots (with the impeller removed).
How can I disassemble the pump further? Unfortunately, my repair manual doesn't provide any more information. There must be a way to remove the gear, which also contains a seal.

Please take some pictures. You definitely won't find anything clear in the RLF; only involves swapping.

I can give you some phone numbers.
The gasket under the cover is part number N 90415901 (52x2). Below that, there are two more "seals" installed: part number 068145117B (a washer) and part number N 90414601 (38x3).
"And for other, older pumps, there is still a repair kit with check valves; perhaps something similar is installed in that one? Of course, the cover is not for the 1Z pump. The VAG part number is 068198819; comparable versions are also available from TOPRAN, etc., and it looks like this:"

Hi,
I proactively had the seals there ! The problem (?) is that the pump is running roughly in certain areas. I want to disassemble it further. The pictures are currently being uploaded.

Hi,
Even after heating with a hot air gun, the sprocket could not be removed. Since I had to position the puller jaws under the gear ring, I obviously didn't want to apply excessive tension to the puller.
The pinion gear might have shrunk, at least that's what I found in one of the VW bus forums.
After cleaning with gasoline, the pump's performance improved significantly. I suspect that wear on the sliding stones played a role, as the performance worsened again after the sliding stones were reinstalled. Also, the sliding stones were initially difficult to insert and made a scratching sound.
I then smoothed the grooves in the sliding stones with 2000-grit sandpaper (wet). When inserting the sliding stones, be careful, as they can easily become misaligned, which can create new grooves. The sliding stones may have different thicknesses to match the slots in the rotor, so it's best to mark them before removing them (see the picture in the link above).
The pump has been reassembled with new seals and installed, and it's running for now.
The next time the oil is changed, a check should be performed, and similarly, when the timing belt is replaced, the condition of the intermediate shaft should be inspected.
