Hello,
For the past few days, I've noticed that the electric auxiliary coolant pump on my CBBB (2.0 TDI 125 kW CR) only runs for about 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off. Previously, it took her, in my opinion, several minutes.
The actual control signal seems to be working correctly; when the ignition is on, it runs continuously, and it also responds in the control element test.
What is the post-run control strategy for the electric auxiliary pump, does anyone have details? Is it only controlled depending on the coolant temperature, or is there, for example, an additional sensor for the head temperature, as was sometimes used on older engines?
In SSP 403 it is stated very simply that it runs continuously when ignited... Gruß

Hi Roger,
I've had a few instances of sticking fuel pumps, but mostly on older turbo-petrol engines. However, I was able to revive them with a bit of skill. Regarding the fueling strategy, I have nothing to say. 2010 Caddy kombi life 103 tdisg6 BMM KXW

I can easily imagine that, for example, the pump could still cool the DPF for some time after a regeneration that was initiated due to the engine stopping.
On my previous Focus 1.6TDCI (HDI), the fan would sometimes run for several minutes after the regeneration prematurely ended.

Hello Micha,
Fortunately, it doesn't get stuck.
I'm just curious to know if it should be used under certain conditions, for example, if the oil temperature is > X degrees, or if the water is > X degrees, or if the free burning process has just been completed, or something like that.
Maybe someone else has information about it, or maybe just one of the providers is malfunctioning. Gruß

@ voodoo :
I think so too, but you probably wouldn't hear them, while the fans are roaring.
I could hear her running, but only in the quiet basement garage. Gruß

Hm,
Should I be worried?
I haven't heard of any... at least not yet.
Do only the CRs have this?

Check the SLP to see if a V181 is present.
//EDIT, at 3C, the Haldexpump is called...
I'll take a look further. Gruß

I don't know any PD TDI engines with an additional water pump.
My father's Superb 2.0TDI CR also doesn't have one installed.

V181 was incorrect, it should be V178.
But there is indeed no one in the BMR. Gruß

Hi,
I need to clarify something here:
Unfortunately, in the last few days, I have had to shut down the system four times due to what appeared to be a regeneration process (idle time ~1,000/min). Not once did the fans run during these shutdowns. The last one was this morning. However, when I had the hood on, I didn't notice any significant heat buildup.
Did I miss the "hot phase" every time, or could there be a defect that would also explain the (apparently) missing coolant pump outlet?
When I go to the fan control test in the MSG, I can easily activate the fan on a low setting. This means, at least, that the electrical supply to the fans is, in principle, intact. Gruß
