Subaru Diagnostics: Using VCDS Hardware (Articles)

FreeSSM is a diagnostic software for Subaru vehicles. It is released under the GPL (General Public License version 3.0) and runs on both Windows and Linux (utilizing the excellent Qt toolkit).

Our existing VCDS HEX/KEY diagnostic hardware can be used with FreeSSM.

Here's how to use our semi-professional and professional systems with a USB connection:
- Log in to the customer account and download the VCP driver (emulation of a virtual COM port).

- Unzip the attached file and then run the software setup for FreeSSM.
